Children's place coupon: 3 Benefits Of Allowing Your Child To Choose Own Clothes

If suddenly your child has become more vocal about her/his wardrobe, congratulations. This is a sign your kid is growing up. It does not matter if you want to buy nice jeans and girls t-shirts for your princess or to buy boys shorts online for your hero, your child will continue to demand to buy him/her some sparkle dresses or fluffy skirts, or a spider-man costume and pants. There are many discussions about parents’ perspectives on allowing their children to dress their own way. And recent studies have shown that most parents who have allowed their children to pick out their own clothes, do not regret this decision. Here are some of the top three benefits why parents should encourage their kids to choose own clothes.
  • Sense Of Responsibility – Allowing your little girl to wear her favorite dresses instead of girls t-shirts or your little boy to wear his favorite shorts, is a good way to teach them how to be independent and to accept the outcomes of their decisions. Kids do not like to do something that they do not understand nor they appreciate the meaning of doing something just because they were told to. Kids really need to learn more from their own personal experiences because you will not be able to control what they will wear and do forever.
  • Allows Them To Express Themselves – From an early age, children try to figure out who they are. Most parents choose clothes for their kids that fit their personality, but this can be a cause for children to feel resentful about not being themselves and not being able to express themselves the way they want to. So, as a parent try to understand your kid’s personality. Understand that sometimes he/she need to express the way he/she thinks. This way, they will gain self-esteem and will feel more confident about themselves in the future.
  • Understand When To Draw The Line – Allowing your kids to dress their own way, is good. However, sometimes you will have to intervene because you surely do not want your kid to look like a clown. What you need to do, is to give your children both freedom and lesson on the society norms. They need to learn and understand certain rules if you want them to be responsible for their decisions.
These are some of the most things you will benefit from if you allow (to a certain extent) your children wear what they want. So, why not include them in the shopping process? When browsing online retailers and looking for girls t-shirts or boys shorts online, ask your children about their own opinion on certain clothing piece. If, for example, out of all boys shorts online, your kid chooses the ones that do not match the rest of the outfit, tell him why he needs to choose other model without making him feel bad. You can tell him that the pattern does not match the chosen t-shirt or something similar. Your child will understand and accept your advice. Let's them visit Children's place coupon $10 off $30 to consider many items.

Children's place coupon $10 off $30Consumers looking to purchase girls’ gloves or mittens have many things to consider. The very first decision to be made is whether consumers want to buy gloves or mittens. This may depend on the age of the child, or the style of handwear the girl wants. First, they should consider which style of gloves or mittens to purchase. There are several styles to choose from, including dress, ski, winter, and fingerless. Parents also need to consider which size is appropriate for their daughter. Girls’ gloves and mittens are available in sizes ranging from extra small (XS) to large (L) to accommodate hands of all sizes. Girls’ gloves and mittens come adorned with several of the popular kids’ characters, such as Hello Kitty, Monster High, iCarly, and Disney Princesses. Parents will also be able to find girls’ gloves and mittens in a variety of seasonal and holiday patterns, including pumpkins, snowflakes, Christmas trees, and Santa Claus.

Styles of Girls’ Gloves and Mittens
People that are interested in purchasing a pair of girls’ gloves or mittens have many styles from which to choose. Styles include dress, ski, winter, and fingerless. When choosing the style of glove or mitten, parents should consider the style of the child.

Dress Gloves and Mittens
Designers of all types are making gloves and mittens based on the occasion for which they will be worn. Some of these occasions include First Holy Communion, weddings, and holidays. These gloves and mittens are available in a multitude of materials and adornments.

First Holy Communion Gloves
First Holy Communion gloves usually come in many white materials, including satin, lace, or silk and can be adorned with beads, sequins, or floral stitching to match the child’s dress. These gloves come in many lengths, from sitting on the wrist to just below the elbows. While wearing these gloves, girls are empowered with beauty and sophistication, and complete their ensemble with a high level of style.

Wedding Gloves and Mittens
Gloves worn by girls for weddings come in several materials and colors. Materials include lace, satin, silk, or taffeta. These gloves and mittens come in a multitude of colors to match the girls dress. Many of the wedding gloves and mittens come adorned with frills at the ends of the gloves, as well as beads and lacework. This helps to provide a level of elegance and grace to gloves of all kinds and girls of all ages.

Holiday Gloves and Mittens
When dressing a girl for a major holiday, such as Christmas or Easter, parents will be looking at the full ensemble. This outfit will usually include a fancy dress, dressy shoes, tights or socks, hats, and gloves or mittens. These holiday gloves and mittens come in an array of colors, sizes, lengths, and materials to match to the rest of the attire.

Ski Gloves and Mittens
Girls’ ski gloves are available in an assortment of colors, sizes, and designers. Some of the designers to choose from include Burton, Gordini, Taslon, and ZeroXposur. Materials include Gore-Tex, nylon/polyester, 3M Thinsulate, and water-repellent microfiber. Parents will need to consider which of these presents the most comfort, warmth, and protection from the elements for their little girls.

Burton Ski Gloves and Mittens
Burton was created in 1977 to provide snowboarders with the best there is when it comes to snowboards and gear. This gear includes girls’ ski gloves and mittens. Burton gloves are known for their low bulk, Thermacore insulation and a brushed microfiber shell to keep a child’s hands warm and dry while outside playing in the elements. They also feature Burton’s Dryride Ultrashell on the outside, which repels water. Girls’ Burton gloves and mittens are available in colors like pink, black, and multi. While some of their gloves are a single color, there are options for patterned gloves and mittens as well. Burton is known for its superior quality and design, so consumers should expect these gloves and mittens to be on the more pricey side.

Gordini Ski Gloves and Mittens

Gordini was founded in 1956 and is based in Vermont and Canada by winter sports enthusiasts. The company is always striving to keep a person’s body heat production and heat loss in perfect balance. The company offers a few different glove technologies, including Aquabloc and Gore-Tex. Aquabloc offers waterproof, breathability, and windproof technology that allows moisture produced within the glove to escape through the spacing of the molecules in the insert.

These spaces are large enough to allow moisture to escape without allowing water to penetrate the glove. With Gore-Tex, the microporous membrane allows perspiration to escape while providing complete waterproofing. This technology makes Gordini Gore-Tex gloves some of the most breathable and waterproof gloves available to consumers. They come in several colors for girls, but are most popular in black. These gloves are usually within a mid-range price range and are extremely durable.

ZeroXposur Ski Gloves and Mittens

Since the inception of the company, ZeroXposur has specialized in creating outerwear that combines performance fabrics, functionality, and fashion for everyone that wears it. Many ZeroXposur gloves and mittens feature the 3M Thinsulate insulation, a brushed Tricot lining, synthetic reinforcement on the palm, articulated fingers and thumbs, adjustable cinched wrists, and water resistance. The cinched wrist design allows the girls to tighten the Velcro strap to fit snugly around their wrists. By doing this, girls can prevent any snow or wind from getting inside the gloves or mittens and making the hands moist and cold. These design features prevent the bulky feeling most other gloves cause by their insulation and allow the fingers to move normally. Girls’ ZeroXposur gloves and mittens are available in a variety of colors and styles that enable girls to choose their favorite ones.

Winter Gloves and Mittens

When choosing a pair of winter gloves or mittens for girls, parents have several options. One thing that needs to be decided is whether to purchase gloves or mittens. While gloves allow each finger its own pocket of warmth and dryness, mittens may be better suited for younger children. Little girls may find it easier to put on and remove their mittens much easier than gloves. Winter gloves and mittens provide girls with high levels of warmth thanks to the insulation liners most varieties have. They can also come with water resistant coatings on the polyester gloves and mittens to keep little hands dry. These gloves and mittens come in many colors, including pinks, blues, black, and purples.

Parents can also find several gloves and mittens that are meant to wear just for warmth, such as gloves and mittens made from fabrics like cotton, yarn, wool, or fleece. While each of these materials is meant to keep the hands warm and out of the wind, they are not water resistant and offer no protection against the moisture elements. Parents will be able to find these gloves and mittens in several colors and patterns, such as stripes, snowflakes, and holiday themes. They are also available in many popular characters, including Disney Princesses, SpongeBob SquarePants, Hello Kitty, and Tweety Bird.

Fingerless Gloves and Mittens

Fingerless gloves and mittens are usually made of fabrics like cotton, wool, fleece, and yarn. These gloves come in the widest variety of colors, patterns, and characters, including pastels, neons, stripes, hearts, Monster High, and Angry Birds. Fingerless gloves come in a few different styles, such as those that have a mitten flap that can be buttoned back to the top of the hand for the fingerless look, or flapped over the fingers for the mitten look. Fingerless gloves also come without this flap for a true fingerless glove. Parents will be able to find these gloves in the lace-up variety and the mesh look, as well as the full fabric option at Children's place.

A Guide to Buying Sleepwear for Your Baby Girl

A good amount of sleep is vital for babies to grow and develop in a healthy way. Pajamas help babies sleep better by regulating their temperatures, protecting their skin, and providing comfort. Safety and comfort are the biggest priorities when it comes to shopping for sleepwear for baby girls. There are several different styles of pajamas and they come in a variety of colors and patterns for parents to choose from. Finding a cute pair of pajamas can be fun for adults, but the baby will not know the difference. So, the pajamas should ultimately be designed with the baby’s best interests in mind.

When it comes to finding sleepwear for baby girls, there are several things to consider before buying them. This guide will help parents understand the different factors involved in selecting good pajamas as well as show them where and how to purchase them.

Six Things to Consider When Selecting Sleepwear for Baby Girls
Selecting baby pajamas may seem like a simple and straightforward process, but there are actual multiple factors that should be involved in the decision.

1. Avoid Decorations
Bows, large buttons, and frilly flaps are certainly adorable, but they may not be safe. Anything that could potentially get caught on the crib, wrapped around the baby, or turn into a choking hazard should be avoided. Babies are without supervision most of the night so it is important to make sure that they are as safe as possible.

2. Avoid Over-Sized Pajamas
Babies grow quickly which makes it tempting for parents to want to buy clothes that are a size too large. This may be okay for older children, but for babies, it can be unsafe. Sleepwear that is too baggy makes it possible for the baby girl to get tangled up in it and stuck in an uncomfortable position until a parent comes to get her.

Baby sizes are measures based on the age of the baby. Unfortunately, this often creates problems because every baby grows at different rates. The best option is to buy standardized pajamas for newborns and then monitor their growth. Pay attention to what age-range they are currently wearing and when they outgrow it, simply purchase the next age-range up. If this is not possible, each manufacturer should have a weight and length chart for parents to be able to work from. In order to use the charts, parents will need to own a weight scale and a flexible measuring tape.

3. Only Purchase Sleepwear
Babies should not be put to bed in anything but pajamas that fit them. Sometimes it is easiest to just wrap a sleeping baby up in a large T-shirt or sweatshirt. However, these loose fitted clothing items pose a major threat to the baby. They raise the risk of suffocation as well as increased flammability risks.

4. Purchase Flame-Resistant Pajamas
When shopping, look for the yellow label or read the product description if purchasing online. A yellow label means that the pajamas are not flame retardant and the manufacturer will recommend that the garment be tight-fitting. The looser the garment, the more likely it is to catch on fire because of the amount of air between the skin and the fabric. Fitted sleepwear is considered to be safe to wear even if it is not flame retardant because there is minimal oxygen between the skin and fabric to fuel the flames.

If parents decide to purchase flame - resistant sleepwear for their baby, they should monitor their girl closely the first few days that she wears them. Babies have sensitive skin and it is not uncommon for them to have an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the materials.

5. Dress Babies for the Season
Different sets of pajamas should be purchased for the cold and hot seasons. In the winter, parents should select soft but warm materials like flannel or fleece. Sleepwear with booties are a good idea for keeping the feet warm, especially for newborns. Do not overdo it though. A baby's temperature is best regulated by keeping the room warm, rather than bundling her up and potentially making her overheat.

For the summer months, soft cotton, charmeuse, and satin are good, lightweight materials to consider. Two piece pajama sets and nightgowns will also help keep the baby cool.

6. Pay Attention to the Fabric
Soft, lightweight materials keep babies comfortable and help them regulate their temperature on their own. Consider purchasing natural materials such as cotton, terry cloth, knits, or soft wool. Organic fabric blends are also a good choice and will prevent any bad reactions that a baby’s skin may have to a material

5 Tips On Choosing Clothes For A Baby

Buying clothes for oneself can be hard, but buying them for another person is sometimes more difficult for most people. What we noticed though Children's place coupon $10 off $30, is that it’s really difficult to buy clothes for other people. For adults it is harder because taste is so subjective, but it’s easier because you can ask, and for children and babies it’s easier because they won’t comment, but it’s hard because you might not know what to buy for the same reason, you’re not getting any feedback (until a certain age).

Any baby will likely spend their first few months in comfy romper suits, super soft baby grows and cute little vests. While you may want to dress your new born baby in the most adorable of outfits, it is always a good idea to have a few practical outfits ready at hand – that way you can easily change baby when those favorite outfits are in the wash.

At many times, people who raise babies learn  what to look for after a “trial and error” process, so our tips today will make you have more ‘trials’ and less errors.  Also, many people, both men and women often find themselves in the situation where they need to buy baby clothes as a gift (because what can you get a baby?) and have no idea what to get and what to look for.

To help pick the best baby clothes for your little one, here are a few tips on what to look out for when choosing baby clothes.

Look out for Lightweight Materials
Soft cotton vests and romper suits are ideal for filling your baby’s wardrobe with. The lightweight materials ensure that you can easily dress baby for the changing seasons – adding extra layers such as a cardigan when it is cold or simply letting baby roam around in one layer during the warmer months. Lightweight materials are also preferable as they can be easily packed away into your changing bag for when you and baby are on the go.

Choose Accessible Clothing
Baby grows and romper suits are some of the most popular types of baby girls designer clothing that you can buy, and the reason for this is that they offer easy access for changing baby’s nappy. When buying your baby clothing, go for clothes that offer handy press studs that can be opened and closed quickly and easily when dressing and undressing baby for nappy changes.

Keep it Comfy
You will soon hear about it if your baby isn’t comfortable in their baby clothes. Choosing stretchy clothing that allows for plenty of movement as well as soft materials will easily keep your baby comfy and happy.

Are the Clothes Easy to Wash?
Babies need changing regularly, so it comes to no surprise that your washing machine will always be on the go. When choosing baby clothes opt for easy to wash materials over hand wash only garments – this will save you time and effort when getting the next batch of clothing ready for your little one.

When buying from sales, also buy bigger clothes
If you want to take advantage of baby clothes sales, buy clothes that will not only be good this season, but that will come in handy a few months later, when your baby is bigger. Small children don’t need tons of clothes, but they do need them to be appropriate for season and their size.

Your kids can’t wait to start splashing. They’ve got sunscreen, water toys and goggles—but what about a proper life jacket? Not just reserved for boating, life jackets are crucial around pools and open water, especially for your littlest fish. The Canadian Pediatric Society recommends that all infants and toddlers weighing at least nine kilograms should wear a life jacket (or personal floatation device, PFD) when playing in or around water. (There are no life jackets or PFDs approved for use in Canada for infants less than nine kilograms; they should be held by an adult). Kids can drown in as little as one inch of water, and children between one and four years old are considered most at risk. In fact, drowning is the second most common cause of death for children under five years old.

To keep your little ones safe, it’s important that life jackets or PFDs fit properly and include the right features. Keep these tips in mind when choosing a life jacket:

1. Make sure it meets safety standards

The life jacket or PFD you use should meet Canadian safety regulations (check for a label from Transport Canada, Canadian Coast Guard, or Fisheries and Oceans Canada). Life jackets and PFDs are similar in that they both strap around the torso; however, life jackets are designed to flip a person from face-down to face-up in the water, while PFDs do not have this feature. Remember that pool and swim toys (noodles, inflatable rings, water wings or bathing suits with floats in them) are not considered standard water safety gear and should not replace a life jacket.

2. Choose the size based on your kid’s current weight

Kids’ life jackets are sized by weight, starting at nine kilograms or more—in Canada, there are no safety approved life jackets or PFDs for infants who weigh less than nine kilograms. Do not purchase a bigger life jacket for your child to “grow into”—make sure your child is the correct weight for the life jacket you buy. It should be snug, but not so tight that you can’t do up the zipper and buckles. You should not be able to lift the life jacket up to your child’s ears or over their head.

3. Go bright

The brighter, the better. Vivid colours like orange and yellow ensure that your child is clearly visible in and around the water.

4. Get all the right features

The Canadian Red Cross recommends the following features in kids’ life jackets and PFDs:

A large collar to support your child’s head
A looped grab strap on the collar for easy grabbing
Durable, functioning, rust-proof (plastic) buckles and zippers, waist-ties with snug-fitting drawstrings or elastic in front and back, and a safety strap that fastens between your child’s legs to keep the jacket in place.
Add reflective tape to increase visibility and a plastic whistle for emergencies. (And teach him how to blow it—your kid likely won’t mind practicing).
5. Put life jackets on, not just near your child

Life jackets and PFDs are meant to be worn, not just near a child or in a boat with a child.

6. Don’t let life jackets replace adult supervision

Toddlers should always be supervised and within arms reach when in or near water, and infants less than 9 kilograms should be held by an adult (as there are no safety-approved infant life jackets). Transport Canada recommends that infants and toddlers should be at least nine kilograms and able to wear a life jacket before boarding a boat.

7. Don’t use life jackets as cushions or toys

Sitting on a life jacket or using it for another purpose can squish the inner material, making it less effective and no longer up to safety standards. Store life jackets in a dry area to ensure they stay in good working condition.

8. Test it out

Every time you zip your kid into it, check the life jacket over for wear and tear, such as broken fasteners, buckles, straps or zippers, and make sure all are in good condition. Replace the life jacket if you find rips. Every summer, ensure your child’s life jacket fits properly and that he can freely move his arms and easily breathe, move, bend over and sit in it. Also make sure he can walk and see the ground without tripping.

In the water, test the life jacket by Children's place coupon $10 off $30 in with your child until he’s at chest level. Assist him as he brings his knees up and floats on his back. Make sure the life jacket keeps your child’s head safely above water and that he can breathe. While beside your child, have him practice swimming in the life jacket on his back and tummy.

When I was pregnant with Honeybun, I amassed quite of collection of gender neutral baby clothes since we choose not to find out our baby’s genders before they are born.  But a few weeks before her arrival, I decided to go buy one special boy outfit and one special girl outfit for the baby to have when s/he met his/her family those first few days.  I hadn’t done much clothes shopping myself before that (I had very generous friends and family) and I remember walking through the store, browsing the baby section and thinking “It has to be a girl, it has to!  Boy clothes are the worst!”
And I was lucky, I got my girl.  And then another and I loved every second of dressing them in their little dresses and tunics and leggings and skirts and sweaters.
And then I got my boy.  And the clothes still sucked.  Everything in the baby boy section is so boring!  The colors are dull and don’t vary much and everything looks like a cross between an old-man with elastic waists and a college kid with screen printed t-shirts.
I was very lucky, again, for the generosity of friends and family and had to do very little shopping for my little dude in the beginning.  But over time I managed to find my baby-boy-dressing-groove and began getting complements on how cute/nicely he was always dressed and now that I know what I like him in, I’ve been able to build his wardrobe into a respectable collection I actually love.

Older Infant:

As he got bigger, I discovered how awesomely adorable he was in rompers.  Either the overall kind with straps or the all-in-one shortie types with collars were my favorite.  They were easy to put on but looked more put together than a simple onesie and cotton pants.

Young Toddler:

Once proportions change and his body shape became more that of a toddler and less of a baby, I started putting him in proper pants as often as possible.  Jeans, khakis, anything NOT made of stretchy knit fabric made a huge difference in his overall appearance.  Paired with a nice patterned or striped shirt and he was the cutest kid on the block!

Older Toddler:

Lately I’ve gotten really hooked on plaid shorts and collared shirts.  I think he is just too cute walking around in his patterned shorts and coordinating “big boy” shirts!
You can always put boys in your favorite fan gear and they’re super cuteMany people enjoy giving baby clothes as presents, but they usually buy the small sizes that won’t fit for long. You may or may not know, but in addition to being a mama and a blogger here at BabbleI am also a freelance wardrobe stylist. I pull together looks for photo shoots and do the occasional personal wardrobe styling as well, but I must say that my absolute favorite “styling gig” has been styling my own daughter. I have so much fun dressing her up in fun, little outfits – especially since I can’t be quite as fashion forward with myself right now with this post baby bod and also because I know I won’t get to choose her ensembles forever. I’m enjoying having my own little real-life doll to play dress up with while I can.

I’ve been asked fairly often about the fashion choices I make for Fern and where I get her clothes, so I thought I’d compile all my favorite baby styling tips and tricks into one post for all those who have been inquisitive.
I enjoy putting together fun outfits for my baby (it's sort of like a hobby) and I only have one child so I have a bit more time to do so. BUT, I do realize that it's not always practical to get your baby dressed up and that some days are just for hanging out in loungey clothes, but that doesn't have to mean pajamas. Comfy leggings and a simple, cozy sweatshirt dress are still easy, but more pulled together.

Children's place coupon $10 off $30Most girls grow up playing with baby dolls. Each doll has its own special name, and all kinds of accessories. The dolls accompany their owner to the park, the mall and other outings.
One day, the girls grow up and put away their dolls. Soon they begin to dream of having a living, breathing baby doll of their very own one day. After lots of pickles, donuts and ice cream, a cute, dimpled baby enters the world. After the baby's measured, weighed and cleaned, the new mother begins to wonder, "Now, what are you going to wear?" Before you put that elastic waist pants, sailor outfit and matching drawstring hat on your new doll, consider these helpful tips:

Remember, when it comes to style, comfort comes first.
These are babies discovering their new world, not adults appearing for their first job interview.
Avoid elastic waists.

Baby's tummies tend to protrude, and elastic tends to wrap tightly around the abdomen causing uncomfortable constriction.
Look for soft, breathable fabrics for clothes.

These work great for all seasons. Cotton is one of the best.
Layer, layer, layer.

During chilly fall months and frigid winters, babies need extra warmth. Provide the protection they need through onesies, sweaters, hats, socks, leggings and other layering items. Buntings, or thick baby sacks, provide warmth in ice, snow and rain. These thick coverings are also quick and convenient to grab as you head out the door. Search for buntings that have an opening in the bottom so your little one can be easily strapped into the car seat. Remove any extra clothing as weather heats up.
Reach for the outfits that facilitate diaper changes.

Look for snaps instead of buttons or zippers. Buttons can become loose and present a choking hazard. Zippers can get caught in baby's skin. If you decide to use clothing with zippers, at least ensure there is a plastic zipper guard.
Keep those tootsies covered.

The easiest way to keep those chubby toes warm is footed pajamas. If a two-piece outfit is planned for the day, grab some coordinating socks before you head out the door.
Protect baby's noggin.

Soft hats can provide protection for tiny heads in the sun and in the cold. Make sure the hat fits snugly, but is not too constrictive. If any red marks or band imprints appear, the fit is too tight. A constrictive hat can lead to headaches.
Express your family's style through your little one.

Does femininity reign in your home? Don't be afraid to adorn your baby girl with a bright fuschia headband and a zebra print dress. Are sports a favorite past time of your hubby? Grab a Denver Broncos baby onesie to encourage the family team spirit.
Consider that baby's clothes are washed frequently.

The layette you choose should have well-stitched seams. Skip the hand wash only garments, and look for machine washable duds.
Prepare for spit-ups, accidents, and messes in your baby's future.

Scout for clothing with bright colors and patterns that conceal an unforgiving stain. Accessorize with a matching bib to catch those extra dribbles. Bibs with velcro or button snaps make clean-ups less of a hassle for mom and baby.
As this new doll has entered your life, try to remember that comfort is style for babies. Besides, what other season in life will she get the privilege to stay in jammies most of the day? Show love and affection to your little one by choosing safe, comfortable and adorable clothing for her wardrobe. Use Childrens Place Coupon Code during checkout to get Extra 30 Percent OFF Clearance (discount applied in cart) for savings up to 70 Percent OFF when you also use your 25 Percent off Savings Pass!

Children's Place Coupon $10 OFF $30: How to buy baby clothes

Between feeding, changing, burping, and soothing, the last thing you want to worry about is baby clothes that take too much effort, rub your baby the wrong way, or are otherwise not worth their space in the nursery. But once you know a few simple rules for shopping, even the most harried diaper change will go more smoothly and your little one will enjoy his new world in comfort and style at Children's place coupon $10 off $30.

We talked to Jenn Falik, a style expert and mother of one, and celebrity baby trend expert Rachel Florio-Urso to find out what you need to know before you shop.

Go cotton all the way

A new baby is precious and so is a baby's skin, so experts recommend that you opt for either 100 percent organic or 100 percent combed cotton when it comes to purchasing for babies 12 months or younger. You can play around with blends later on, once you know whether your baby has any sensitivities.

Think through the on-and-off process

While snaps, buttons, and zippers can be fabulous embellishments, they can also be frustrating when you're doing a sleep-deprived diaper change or have a wriggly baby on your hands. Look for stretchy neck holes – the ones with envelope-like folds at the neckline are great for sliding over a sensitive newborn's head.
Snaps at the crotch remain a favorite for the simple ease they bring to changing a dirty diaper. Some new brands have magnetic snaps, which eliminate the chance of zipper jams and misaligned buttons on sleeper sets. Steer clear of overalls and similarly complicated items unless they unfasten from the crotch.

Opt for pants with elastic waists

It may be tempting to get your little one a pair of blue jeans just like yours (with a button fly and everything), but it's not so fun getting him in and out of those teeny denim dungarees. With jeans as with all pants, opt for stretchy elastic rather than buttons or drawstrings.

The size on the label is just a suggestion.

Every baby is different, and every clothing brand has different standards for sizing. Your child may have long legs or a short torso. He may be a chunky newborn and need to go up a size. Just remember that the size on the label is not a mandate or an indication of how well your child is growing. Leave that up to the doctor!

Aim for simplicity

Check all clothing for harsh chemicals and dyes, and consider limiting pleats, ruching, tulle, and bows around the collar during the first 12 months.  Why? After you put that new girlie dress on your baby you might notice that it gives her a rash!

Stock up in advance – but shop wisely

Buying winter clothes during the spring and summer sales can save you tons of money, but don't go overboard or overcommit to a certain style or size. Otherwise, you may ask yourself why the heck you bought that rocker t-shirt for your prep-ster who only wants to don polo shirts. (This is less true for the littlest babies, who aren't yet asserting their preferences, but certainly becomes truer as they get older.) It can be hard to estimate what size your child will wear six months or more down the road, so be judicious on what and how much you purchase so you don't end up with a giant puffy parka your baby doesn't grow into until summer.

Think creatively about color

Not every little girl needs to be swaddled in pink fairies, nor do little boys need to be covered in blue race cars. Today's baby clothes offer a huge range of colors and patterns, so you can have fun with the color palette. Consider aqua blue and purple for little boys, and shades of orange, aqua, and purple for girls.
Seek out inventive patterns and prints. Take a stroll through clothes intended for the opposite gender to see if anything there might make the leap. You'd be surprised how many little girls look fabulous in slightly boyish stripes, and how many boys can rock polka dots.

You can never have enough white one-pieces

When babies are still in diapers and not yet walking, the white snap-crotch t-shirt is an everyday essential nearly everyone can agree on. It's the perfect underpinning when your baby is all swaddled up, light enough so there's no overheating and easy to get on and off. So stock up on a range of sizes. Bonus: When they get stained or stretched out, they can become great household rags or burp cloths.

Focus on the basics

Simple styles and colors should be the foundation of the closet, and then you can use a cool pattern or funky item to finish off the look. It may be a vest, a cardigan, or a pair of striped tights. Dresses are a bit of an exception, as one kaleidoscopic frock is a one-stop shop of an outfit – no need to match it with much!

When in doubt, opt for the larger size

Babies can seem to grow overnight, and the last thing you want is a drawer full of constricting garments. You can always roll up pant legs or tuck in too-long Ts to bridge the time between spurts!

Take advantage of this by not buying too many before your baby is born, then buy wisely to get the best value for money with Children's Place Coupon $10 OFF $30.

Children's place coupon $10 off $30: 6 Durable Kids' Jeans That Will Last The Whole School Year

Every year it's the same: I buy my son jeans. By February the knees are worn through. I try to patch them up, but it's a disaster. I give up, and my son wears ratty, torn jeans through the end of the school year. What the hell, jean makers? Why can't you make jeans that actually last a whole year?

I decided to turn my quest for durable kids' jeans to The Prowl and got some excellent recommendations there. And then I added a couple more I found. Here are the top six most durable kids' jeans I could find.

Lands' End Iron Knee Jeans

I've gotten Lands' End jeans before, and they've lasted the longest of the bunch. But their "Iron Knee" jeans are reinforced with an invisible polyester patch. They also have double-stitched seams for extra durability. And they're guaranteed for life, so if they do (somehow) wear through, I can demand a new pair. Kind of perfect, right?

Carhartt Washed Denim

Wow, triple seams and 10.5-ounce cotton, that sounds tough. These Carhartt jeans come highly recommended.

Toughskins -- that kind of suggests that the whole point of these jeans is invincibility, right? Their price point, on the other hand, is gentle: $12, the least expensive of this bunch.
Children's Place Skinny Jeans

Another recommendation, these jeans from Children's Place are made from denim woven with polyester, plus they have reinforced seams. They also appear to be on sale right now for 10 bucks.

LOVE IS Organic Denim

And now, just for laughs, let's go to crazy town and look at these jeans by LOVE IS Organic Denim. Not only is the denim organic and the dyes environmentally conscious, the cotton is fair trade. The only thing I don't like is the price: ZOMG, they come in around $100 a pair. Not saying they aren't worth it (theoretically), but when you're looking at buying seven pairs, that's a hefty investment. They'd better last through the school year at that price!
Gap 1969 Skinny Jeans

I got my son a pair of these last year and they did pretty well. And he looked so freakin' cool in them.

1. Always choose one size ahead of your baby’s actual age. Sizes can be on the small side and babies grow quickly. Most 6-month-old babies can wear clothes size 9–12 months, 1-year-olds wear size 2 and so on. But do take account of the season – lightweight summer clothes are no use in the winter, and vice versa.

2. When sales shopping, get clothes for the coming months. If your child is 9 months old in January, buy clothes for 18–24 months in anticipation of the following winter. In ‘expensive’ baby shops, head for the sale rails – there’s nearly always one in Baby Gap, and bargains of up to 50% off – sometimes more – can be had.

3. Be selective when buying up-market babywear. There’s little point in paying top price for vests, plain tops or tights, for example – just mix in cheaper labels with some branded goods and you’ll give the impression of full designer wear but pay a fraction of the cost.

4. If you are tempted by expensive clothing for your baby, consider whether it is good value for money. Trousers and practical dresses may be worn enough to justify the outlay, but avoid paying top price for an outfit for special occasions – it might only get one airing. See if you can borrow a special occasion outfit instead.

5. For some real bargains, go along to nearly new sales and secondhand babywear shops. Babies grow very quickly and favorite clothes are often outgrown long before they’re worn out. You can benefit from what other people have had to throw out; some items may still carry the original shop tag, indicating that they’ve never been worn.

6. Good deals can be had on baby.shop.ebay.com. You’ll find secondhand and brand new designer baby clothes being sold for next to nothing.

Most todlers love to shop for clothing, but some get frustrated trying to determine what looks good on them, and they feel overwhelmed by the choices that are available. Choosing clothing by style is one way to make shopping more fun and less arduous. By getting a feel for what styles feel most comfortable and look most attractive, one can build a cohesive wardrobe full of pieces that are easily mixed and matched. This way, shopping sessions can be targeted; narrowing down potential pieces makes the shopping experience simpler and more satisfying.
With style in mind, avoiding unflattering clothes eventually becomes second-nature. It is also easy to imagine how potential pieces will work with other clothing. Otherwise, buying whatever looks good or seems popular may result in a bulging wardrobe of incongruous garments that cannot be put together with many other items, resulting in the classic "closet full of clothes and nothing to wear" syndrome. This guide will explain how to get organized for the next shopping session.
